Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

Have you ever laid down on a beach and looked up at the stars? Or perhaps you’ve sat on the top of a hill and looked up at the stars or laid down in an open field, been on a walk or simply walked down to the end of your back garden and looked up at the stars? People often do this when they are troubled and in that sense they find themselves wondering, if not strolling amongst the stars, just wishing there was some other life someplace else!

They say that when people suffer a lot in life that they ask more deep and searching questions and some would even go as far as to wonder why they are here! You might even compare this world that we all live on to the vastness of space and arrive at the conclusion that earth is just a spec of dust in comparison to the never ending void of space and with some people thoughts like this have put them on a truth seeking path where they really do want to find the meaning of life as to why we are all here and is there another life after this life? You just need to know that there is another life, especially if the future doesn’t look too promising for you down here, let’s face it, life is a real struggle and there’s plenty of heartbreak and woe and few people that you can really trust and sometimes you might even wonder if you can trust yourself with yourself if you are to be truly honest and if you can’t trust yourself with yourself then why should you expect anyone else to trust you and you in turn to trust them!

In spite of all of this kind of thinking there really is Someone that you can trust in this whole universe and even out of this universe because then you would be talking about the spirit world where Jesus now lives. When Jesus returned to this world after He died He said to His disciples, “Low, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:20) So spiritually looking at things, Jesus isn’t that far away. Before He left here He said to His disciples, and don’t forget that anything Jesus said to His disciples He was also saying to us, and so He said,

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:1-3)

And Jesus said again in the same chapter:

27. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Perhaps you have woken up early in the morning and seen the bright and morning star? So Jesus says,

I am with you always

and

“…I am the bright and morning star.”
